Is THANKFULNESS important? Why? What are you thankful for (big things, little things)? Who are you thankful for? Whom are you thankful to? What's the opposite of thankfulness? Thankfulness and establishing an 'attitude of gratitude' is a foundational theme in scripture. As an entry point to the journey of faith we are stirred to count our blessings and build upon a heart of thanksgiving. Here are some encouraging key verses, prompts and reminders from God's word.


1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.

1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the LORD , for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Psalm 75:1 We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near; men tell of your wonderful deeds.

Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

Psalm 107:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
