Life Questions

How is your sense of right and wrong? Is being, acting, doing right important to you? What is your guide for righteousness? Who do you look to for what's right? Who looks to you? As an important theme in scripture the Bible directs us to God's word to establish and understand what is right. And through Christ that word became flesh. Here are some encouraging key verses from God's word.


Psalm 16:8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

Psalm 17:7 Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes

Psalm 25:9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

Psalm 33:4 For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

Psalm 121:5 The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand; Ecclesiastes 7:20 Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins.

Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Luke 22:69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God.’

John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God –

Romans 2:13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.

Romans 10:4 Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
