Life Questions:

How is your memory holding up? It's frightening sometimes the trivial things we remember and the important things we forget. Have you ever forgotten something really important? In our world of information overload, we have so many tools to help us remember and yet, the more layers we add to the mix, the more distracted we are and the more forgetful we become as we use our brains less to remember. What do you do to stir and stimulate your memory to the important things of life?


As a central theme in scripture the Bible has some great encouragement and reminders of and the important things that we are to remember. Soak in, take to heart and perhaps try to commit to memory some these key verses.


I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced

Remember to extol his work, which people have praised in song.

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him.

Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.

Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations,

In the night, Lord, I remember your name, that I may keep your law.

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”

Do not be angry beyond measure, Lord; do not remember our sins forever. Oh, look on us, we pray, for we are all your people.

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.

After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

I thank my God every time I remember you.

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David.

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.

Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent.
