As an important theme in scripture the Bible is described as God's word and Jesus himself within the text is also referred to as "The Word". Here are some encouraging key verses from God's word.


Exodus 23:2 ‘Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong.

Deuteronomy 13:4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.

Job 23:11 My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside.

Psalm 23:6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Psalm 119:33 Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.

Psalm 119:80 May I wholeheartedly follow your decrees, that I may not be put to shame. Jeremiah 7:24 But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backwards and not forwards.

Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

Matthew 4:19 ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people.’

Romans 2:8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

Ephesians 5:1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children

1 Peter 2:21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

2 Peter 1:16 For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eye-witnesses of his majesty. Revelation 19:14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
